The Giving Tree/Providing Children of Designated Local Needy Families with Christmas gifts.

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Belles ask the Parishioners of St. Mary’sto join them  making a local needy child’s Christmas morning a happy one. 

Early in November, the Outreach Ministry receives limited number of names of needy families in the local community and from St. Edwards, our sister parish.  The Belles team up with Outreach to help provide the children in these families with 3 or 4 gifts to open on Christmas morning.

The process is started by the Belles receiving a Christmas Gift Wish List from each of the children in these families.   Each gift wish is recorded on a gift tag, along with the requesting child identification information.  These tags are hung on a Christmas tree in the church and parishioners are invited to take a tag, purchase the gift and return the gift and tag by a deadline.  The gifts are then sorted and bagged for each family for pick-up with their holiday grocery basket put together by the Outreach Committee.
