The Food Pantry at St. Mary’s is a compassionate and caring ministry that serves our local community with love and generosity. Open on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the pantry provides essential food to families in need. The pantry is closed during the months of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, when St. Mary hosts larger food drives, but remains a vital resource throughout the remainder of the year.
The pantry serves up to 21 families each month and its work is made possible by the generous donations of parishioners, local businesses and ministries like Curling Iron, the Belles of St. Mary's, the Knights of Columbus, and the Boy Scouts of Jarrettsville. These gifts; food and financial, time and talent, ensure that the pantry can continue to provide for those who rely on it.
Located on the ground floor beneath the Parish Center Hall, the pantry offers a welcoming environment for families to receive food.
Volunteers, who dedicate several Saturdays each year to this important ministry, play an essential role in keeping the pantry running smoothly. If you feel called to help, whether by volunteering a few hours or simply being a substitute, your contribution would be deeply appreciated. Families are also encouraged to get involved—students looking for volunteer hours often assist by helping customers cart their groceries to their vehicles.
If you’re interested in joining this fulfilling ministry or would like more information, please contact the parish office. Thank you for your support in helping us continue this vital work of compassion and service.
