· This ministry provides a guided study of the Bible (both Old and New Testaments). The usual format is a video and/or book guide to a portion of the Bible (e.g. Revelation) or a specific aspect of the Bible (e.g. Mary and the Bible). These are from Catholic sources, such as the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.
· These studies have typically been scheduled on Monday nights at 7:00pm in the Youth Room. They encourage and strengthen our faith and provide fellowship and camaraderie. We have averaged about 10 or more participants in our studies and we welcome more people to come and learn with us.
If you would like to participate in the next offering of a Bible study, have questions, or would like to help to plan for, support or lead a Bible Study, please contact Joy, above.
Recent history: In the fall of 2016 our group studied “The Bible and the Virgin Mary” from Scott Hahn’s apostolate. It’s part of their Journey Through Scripture series, that demonstrates how the Old and New Testaments work together. It ties historical witness to topics faced by today’s Catholics. There were weekly videos and workbook chapters. This study is available for free via the Internet on FORMED (note the link to FORMED elsewhere on our Parish website).
After that, we spent six weeks studying “Revelation”, using the book by Kevin Oerrotta “Revelation: God’s Gift of Hope”. The often misunderstood Revelation has powerful messages for us today, including Mary’s part in God’s salvation plan.
